Basketball Recap: Peak to Peak Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Peak to Peak's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Kent Denver Sun Devils. The Pumas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sun Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Peak to Peak lost, don't look at Alexandra Eschmeyer. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Eschmeyer's 20th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Lewis, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Austin Duncan continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kent Denver, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 20 rebounds. What's more, Duncan also posted a 73% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Kaylah Miller was another key player, shooting 75% from the field en route to 14 points along with eight boards and six blocks.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 14-6. As for Kent Denver, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10.

Peak to Peak wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-33 win against Jefferson Academy on the 20th. As for Kent Denver, they have also already played their next game, a 56-47 victory against Forge Christian on the 20th.
