Basketball Game Preview: Butler Golden Tornado vs. North Allegheny Tigers

The Butler Golden Tornado will head out on the road to face off against the North Allegheny Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Butler came up short against Fox Chapel and fell 49-38. The match marked the Golden Tornado's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, North Allegheny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 46-37 to New Castle. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 16th).

Butler's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-5. As for North Allegheny, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Butler came up short against North Allegheny in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 66-56. Can Butler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
