Cypress Lake is a perfect 4-0 against Island Coast since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will challenge the Gators at 7:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cypress Lake is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering South Fort Myers just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 22-7 bruising from the Wolfpack.

Meanwhile, Island Coast played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Charlotte and fell 45-13. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Fightin' Tarpons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Cypress Lake will need to focus on slowing down Terrance Taylor Jr, one of several Island Coast players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 242 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes. A healthy portion of Taylor Jr's aerial production (121 yards to be exact) went to Christian Henderson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Island Coast's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cypress Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Cypress Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Island Coast in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 34-22. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Gators' Gervaris Leaphart, who rushed for 154 yards and three scores.
