Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newsome walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Riverview Sharks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Newsome never let Riverview on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-22, 25-5.
Shelby Toney paced Newsome's offense, picking up 16 kills. Toney got some help from Saige Timmerman and her 17 assists. Toney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.
