Football Recap: Wolfson Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wolfson's offense. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of the Andrew Jackson Tigers. The Wolfpack lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in March of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 12-0 score last time.

Andrew Jackson's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Araniya Riggins, who threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, and also rushed for 68 yards on only five carries. The dominant performance gave Riggins a new career-high in passing touchdowns. Deziya Byrd was another key receiver, picking up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Wolfson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Andrew Jackson, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.

Wolfson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Wolfson is facing Baldwin at the right time seeing as Baldwin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Andrew Jackson, they will host Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Andrew Jackson 13.4, Riverside 6) so any points scored will be well earned.
