Basketball Game Preview: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Summerville Green Wave

Ashley Ridge has won 17 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Summerville has won 17 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes will host the Summerville Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ashley Ridge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Stall: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ashley Ridge blew Stall out of the water with a 75-26 final score. With the Swamp Foxes ahead 45-19 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Ashley Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skyla Tuthill, who posted 12 points. Nadia President was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Ashley Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stall only posted five assists.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Summerville over James Island in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Summerville blew James Island out of the water with a 56-27 final score. Given the Green Wave's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Trojans are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summerville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Ashley Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.

Ashley Ridge didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Summerville when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Summerville's Cailah Tucker, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
