Recap: Manning Monarchs vs. Allendale-Fairfax Tigers
There's no place like home for the Manning Monarchs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Allendale-Fairfax by a score of 53-44 on Saturday. Given Manning's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Allendale-Fairfax is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Manning's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tavion Carter, who scored seven points along with 22 rebounds and eight blocks. Carter has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Ceasar, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Manning has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Allendale-Fairfax, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Manning will head out on the road to challenge Dillon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dillon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Allendale-Fairfax, they will be playing at home against Bridges Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridges Prep and Allendale-Fairfax are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
