Volleyball Preview: Whitehall Zephyrs vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles

The Whitehall Zephyrs will challenge the Cumberland Valley Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Whitehall is returning to their home court after beating Abington Heights on theirs, despite the fact Abington Heights has dominated at home this season. The Zephyrs put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Zephyrs.

Whitehall never let Abington Heights on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Spring-Ford on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.

Whitehall better focus on containing Hayden Ackley and Kai Dunwoody as the pair were huge in Cumberland Valley's win. Ackley had 14 digs and four aces, while Dunwoody had 19 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Dunwoody has posted since back in April.

Cumberland Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring-Ford only served two.

Cumberland Valley's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Whitehall, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.
