The Gananda Central Blue Panthers will challenge the North Rose-Wolcott Cougars at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Gananda Central's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while North Rose-Wolcott has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Tuesday, Gananda Central earned an 8-4 win over Sodus.
Henry Shutts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gananda Central let Owen Switzer and Will Schneemann run wild. Switzer went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Schneemann went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Switzer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wadsworth, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for North Rose-Wolcott's offense. They lost 10-0 to Williamson on Monday.
North Rose-Wolcott saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Crane, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Gananda Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Rose-Wolcott, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
North Rose-Wolcott's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gananda Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. It's a different story for North Rose-Wolcott, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Gananda Central's hitters?
