Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Wins Going Away Against Colbert Heights

It was a proper cat-fight when Mars Hill Bible took on Colbert Heights on Saturday. The Panthers blew past the Wildcats 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 20 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Stegall was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Stegall was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Molly Wright, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Katilyn McGee was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Mars Hill Bible always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colbert Heights only posted an OBP of .481.

Mars Hill Bible has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Colbert Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 32-14.

Colbert Heights wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Phil Campbell on the 28th. Hopefully Mars Hill Bible paid attention to the Wildcats' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wildcats on Monday.
