Basketball Recap: Mooseheart Takes a Loss

Mooseheart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers, falling 62-42. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Ramblers of the 53-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mooseheart lost, don't look at John McGowin. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Zeon, who scored seven points and six rebounds.

Mooseheart's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they moved to 3-17 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mooseheart will challenge Westlake Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mooseheart is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will head out to challenge Illinois Math & Science Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
