Soccer Recap: Waubonsie Valley Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Waubonsie Valley was not quite Maine South's equal in the second half on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Hawks. While losing is never fun, Waubonsie Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Maine South are ranked 15th).

Waubonsie Valley now has a losing record of 6-7-4. As for Maine South, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 12-3-1 record this season.

Waubonsie Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Naperville Central at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th. Naperville Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last. As for Maine South, they will face off against Boylan Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
