Baseball Game Preview: Lake Flyers vs. Eastwood Eagles

The Lake Flyers will venture away from home to challenge the Eastwood Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Eastwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lake's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Start hitters got past them. The Flyers fell 12-7 to the Spartans on Tuesday. The Flyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Eastwood entered their tilt with Otsego on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Knights.

Eastwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Norton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was Norton's first of the season. Colton Woodward was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Eastwood's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
