Baseball Recap: Sargent Comes Up Short

Sargent's last matchup with Dove Creek could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Farmers lost 15-5 to the Bulldogs. The Farmers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Liam Ellithorpe was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Paul Neal was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Sargent's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Dove Creek, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sargent will host Sierra Grande at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
