Basketball Recap: Chijioke Washington Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

Dora hadn't done well against Oakman recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dora Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oakman Wildcats, sneaking past 40-37. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-33 back in December of 2024.

Dora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chijioke Washington out in front who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. What's more, Washington also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Collin Abrom was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The win got Dora back to even at 13-13. As for Oakman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.

Dora wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-43 loss against Carbon Hill on the 25th. Oakman has also already played their next matchup, a 63-41 defeat against Addison on the 27th.
