Recap: Hancock Panthers vs. Paw Paw Pirates

The Hancock Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 67-58 to Paw Paw. While losing is never fun, Hancock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 292nd in Maryland, while Paw Paw is ranked 62nd in West Virginia).

Jordyn King and Aiden McCarty certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. King scored 14 points along with three steals, while McCarty scored 14 points along with five steals. McCarty hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Anderson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Hancock dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Paw Paw, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Hancock on the road again on Thursday and play against Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Paw Paw, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Shanksville Stonycreek at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Shanksville Stonycreek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Thursday.
