Basketball Game Preview: Notus Pirates vs. Liberty Charter Patriots

The Notus Pirates will challenge the Liberty Charter Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Notus ended up a good deal behind Idaho City and lost 49-31. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Notus saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Victoria Zamora, who posted nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Raven Platt was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Liberty Charter entered their tilt with North Star on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Huskies onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The two-point effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Liberty Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.6 points per game. As for Notus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Notus was dealt a bruising 42-10 loss at the hands of Liberty Charter when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Notus was down 31-4.
