Basketball Game Preview: Shell Lake Lakers vs. South Shore Cardinals

The Shell Lake Lakers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the South Shore Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Shell Lake is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Unity just ended the team's five-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The contest marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, South Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Frederic, falling 66-28. Having soared to a lofty 61 points in the game before, the Cardinals couldn't push the score so high this time.

Shell Lake's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1. As for South Shore, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
