Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Andrean walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Merrillville Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting 59ers sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.
Trevor Prisby paced Andrean's offense, picking up eight kills. Prisby really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 21. Patrick Yock controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Andrean's victory bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Merrillville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
Andrean will take on Hobart at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Merrillville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
