Basketball Game Preview: Vernon Hills Cougars vs. Niles West Wolves

The Vernon Hills Cougars will head out to take on the Niles West Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Vernon Hills came up short against Wauconda and fell 54-44.

Niles West hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 46-32 win over Lincoln Park on Saturday.

Niles West has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-15 record this season. As for Vernon Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Vernon Hills strolled past Niles West in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 47-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vernon Hills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
