Softball Recap: Brunswick Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Brunswick got themselves on the board against Woodridge on Friday, but Woodridge never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 10-0. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Brunswick got a great performance from Kiley Williams as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madison Miller was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Leichliter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Brunswick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Brunswick's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Brunswick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-3 defeat against Bloom-Carroll on the 19th. As for Woodridge, they have also already played their next game, a 22-19 loss against Eastern on the 18th.
