Basketball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside lost against Fountain Inn back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southside Tigers had to suffer through a 58-31 loss at the hands of the Fountain Inn Fury. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fountain Inn found their leader in sophomore Chaniya Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Jackson has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zipora Sullivan, who earned eight points and three steals.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Fountain Inn, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Westside the next time they take the court. Fountain Inn will head out to face Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southside will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
