Baseball Recap: Papillion-LaVista South Comes Up Short

Papillion-LaVista South blew Millard West out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Millard West got their revenge. The Titans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-3. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

Papillion-LaVista South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cordell Clinkingbeard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Danny Wallace, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Papillion-LaVista South and nudges their season record down to 22-7. As for Millard West, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Papillion-LaVista South is set to challenge their familiar foe Millard North at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.3, the Mustangs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Millard West will square off against rival Gretna at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
