Basketball Recap: Alisal Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Alisal had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 55-44 win over the Hollister Haybalers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Christian Lopez had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Hernandez, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Alisal's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Hollister, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Looking ahead, Alisal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Evergreen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.41 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Hollister does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
