Baseball Game Preview: Warrensburg Tigers vs. Boonville Pirates

Warrensburg hasn't had much luck against Boonville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m.

Warrensburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Harrisonville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Surprisingly, this marked the Tigers' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Boonville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over California on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Pintos: they've now won six in a row.

Boonville's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Warrensburg, their loss dropped their record down to 16-14.

Warrensburg suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to Boonville when the teams last played back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
