Softball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. Eastbrook Panthers

Delta lost against Eastbrook on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Delta Eagles wound up on the wrong side of a tough 23-5 walloping at the hands of the Eastbrook Panthers. Delta has not had much luck with Eastbrook recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Hannah Carter and Addie Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Carter went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, while Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Harper Timmerman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

On Eastbrook's side, they got a massive performance out of Gracie Elliott, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Peterson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and a double.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Eastbrook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will take on Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Delta is facing Mt. Vernon at the right time seeing as Mt. Vernon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eastbrook, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Blackford at 5:00 p.m.
