Basketball Recap: Valley Find Success

Valley posted their closest victory since January 10th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Del Norte Knights 53-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-48 back in January.

Valley had a senior duo take command as Luciano Mondragon went 5-for-6 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds and Angelito Villa went 6-for-12 en route to 16 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mondragon has scored all season. Carter Monroe was another key player, putting up nine points.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Del Norte, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-11.

Looking ahead, Valley will venture away from home to face off against Bernalillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley is facing Bernalillo at the right time seeing as Bernalillo is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Del Norte, they will be playing at home against Hope Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
