Greensburg's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Hauser hitters got past them. The Pirates put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 17-10 victory on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Jets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ayden Sefton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Sefton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, Greensburg let Cy Miller and Joey Everroad run wild. Miller went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Everroad went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Miller has posted since back in April of 2024. Logan Meyer was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Greensburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hauser only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, South Dearborn has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.86 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 11-3 to Greensburg. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since April 29, 2024.
South Dearborn saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Gabe Perry also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Greensburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for South Dearborn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
South Dearborn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greensburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. It's a different story for South Dearborn, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Greensburg's hitters?
Everything went Greensburg's way against South Dearborn in their previous meeting on Monday, as Greensburg made off with an 11-3 win.
