Boyertown came into Monday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Phoenixville Phantoms 12-1 on Monday. Considering the Bears have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kyra Neiswender spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Aubrey Gilbert and Jenna Fox did most of the damage at the plate: Gilbert went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Fox went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Gilbert a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Mathias, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
