Basketball Game Preview: Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts vs. Brimfield Indians

The Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts will take on the Brimfield Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Illinois Valley Central is headed into Wednesday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Hall. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Grey Ghosts have suffered since January 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, Brimfield ended up a good deal behind Elmwood on Monday and lost 53-36.

Brimfield's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9. As for Illinois Valley Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

Illinois Valley Central took a serious blow against Brimfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2020, falling 72-36. Thankfully for Illinois Valley Central, Ella Lune (who went 13 of 20 on her way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time.
