Baseball Recap: Franklin Monroe Comes Up Short

Franklin Monroe couldn't beat Milton-Union on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Jets fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Jets were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Brandt Filbrun made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Franklin Monroe: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nathan Fenstermaker, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Franklin Monroe now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Milton-Union, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

The future could be bright for both Franklin Monroe and Milton-Union: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently.
