Football Recap: South Central Satellites vs. Pioneer Panthers
South Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Pioneer Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Satellites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Panthers are ranked 89th).
Rylon Rondo threw for 131 yards on 16 of 25 attempts. Dylan Shively was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Fischer Trosky rushed for 61 yards.
As for Pioneer, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games.
Pioneer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shiloh Rine led the charge by rushing for 144 yards and three TDs, while also picking up 74 receiving yards and one score. Those 144 rushing yards gave Rine a new career-high. Carter Mize was in the mix as well, providing Pioneer with two touchdowns.
