Basketball Recap: Charles Walker Key Part of a Team Effort in Cardinals Win

Cornerstone Charter's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Bethany Community Wolves with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-43 back in December of 2024.

Cornerstone Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charles Walker, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Walker is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Spencer Knight, who posted eight points along with 21 rebounds and five steals.

Cornerstone Charter's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Bethany Community, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Cornerstone Charter will challenge Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leadership Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season. As for Bethany Community, they will take on Piedmont Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethany Community is facing Piedmont Classical at the right time seeing as Piedmont Classical is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
