Red Mountain has won six straight games at home, while Mountain View has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Mountain Lions will welcome the Toros at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Red Mountain's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Red Mountain made easy work of Shadow Ridge and carried off an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won eight matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kendall Cochran made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Red Mountain got a massive performance out of Payton Westra, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Kayla Jones was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Red Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Mountain View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Corona del Sol 3-1.
Like Red Mountain, Mountain View also got a great game from a two-way player: Daniella Gloria. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Gloria a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Red Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Red Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Red Mountain took their win against Mountain View in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Mountain Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Toros turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
