Baseball Recap: Bear River Has No Trouble Against Malad

Bear River never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Malad Dragons with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Bears have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dallin Rice was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Potter, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bear River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Malad only posted an OBP of .235.

Bear River is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Malad, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bear River will face off against Pocatello at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Malad, they will challenge Wendell at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
