Basketball Game Preview: Ketchikan Kings vs. Dimond Lynx

The Ketchikan Kings will challenge the Dimond Lynx at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Ketchikan has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three contests.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Ketchikan and Juneau-Douglas, and Ketchikan kept the tradition alive. Everything went Ketchikan's way against Juneau-Douglas last Friday as Ketchikan made off with a 74-54 win. The Kings have beaten the Crimson Bears the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crimson Bears has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Dimond faced West Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Saturday. Dimond came out on top against West Anchorage by a score of 43-36. Winning may never get old, but the Lynx sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ketchikan pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Dimond, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

Ketchikan lost to Dimond on the road by a decisive 61-44 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Ketchikan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
