Softball Recap: Golden City Eagles vs. Lockwood Tigers

Golden City extended their losing streak to 12 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They came up short against the Lockwood Tigers, falling 16-0. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

As for Lockwood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Lockwood's part, Kallie Griffin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Griffin has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
