Football Recap: Pagosa Springs Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 51 points the game before, Pagosa Springs was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were beaten by the Centauri Falcons 42-6. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Despite the loss, Pagosa Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Pacheco rushed for 64 yards, and also caught one TD.

Centauri's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Shawcroft led the charge by picking up 71 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Shawcroft didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (0.5 for loss). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dallyn King, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Pagosa Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Centauri, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Pagosa Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Centauri, they will host Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
