Softball Recap: Crestview Comes Up Short

Crestview was the 10-2 winner over Bluffton when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dakota Thornell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaci Gregory, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 4-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will take on Allen East at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bluffton, they will challenge Ottawa Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
