Basketball Game Preview: Evangelical Christian Sentinels vs. Out-of-Door Academy Thunder

The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will face off against the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Evangelical Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 72-25 victory over IMG Academy Silver. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.

Evangelical Christian found their leader in sophomore Quez Outten, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Outten a new career-high. Drew Irwin was another key player, going 8 for 18 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Evangelical Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Out-of-Door Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They managed a 64-60 win over Gulf Coast HEAT on Friday.

Out-of-Door Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Evangelical Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Evangelical Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Out-of-Door Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 46-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evangelical Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
