Preview: Heritage Huskies vs. Leesville Road Pride
Heritage has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will square off against the Leesville Road Pride at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Heritage pushed their score all the way to 59, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Jordan 65-59. Heritage found out winning isn't easy when you make six fewer threes than your opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jon Mwanda, who scored 21 points along with 5 rebounds. He scored a full 35.6% of Heritage's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Beckwith, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Panther Creek scored an imposing 81 points on Tuesday, Leesville Road still came out on top. Leesville Road snuck past Panther Creek with a 85-81 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Leesville Road.
The losses dropped Heritage to 0-3 and Jordan to 1-2.
Heritage might still be hurting after the 70-44 defeat they got from Leesville Road in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Heritage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
