Volleyball Recap: Fulton Steamers vs. Galena Pirates

Fulton and Galena squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Fulton had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Galena Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Steamers of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

While Fulton ultimately came up short, they really made Galena work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 27-25.

Chloe Wilkin paced Fulton's offense, picking up eight kills. Wilkin got some help from Miraya Pessman and her eight assists. Finally, Wilkin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Fulton moved to 26-10-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Galena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 26 games, which provided a nice bump to their 34-3 record this season.
