Basketball Recap: Jameson Conway's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wilber-Clatonia over Johnson County Central

Wilber-Clatonia entered their contest against Johnson County Central on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines fell to the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds 56-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 49-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jameson Conway, who went 5 of 7 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Keslar, who posted 13 points.

Wilber-Clatonia's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Johnson County Central, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Southern the next time they take the court. Wilber-Clatonia will host Southern at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Johnson County Central will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
