Western Branch dropped down to 6-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They were beaten by the Oscar Smith Tigers 56-7. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Tigers are ranked 17th).

Masyiah Montgomery threw for 45 yards on six of 13 attempts.

As for Oscar Smith, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games.

Lonnie Andrews had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 211 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
