Soccer Game Preview: Garner vs. Cleveland

Garner hasn't had much luck against Cleveland recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Trojans will square off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m.

Garner is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They fell just short of Fuquay - Varina by a score of 4-3 last Wednesday. Lily Ridge probably wasn't too happy after the matchup: she scored every single goal for Garner and still walked away on the losing team.

Meanwhile, Cleveland came into Wednesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Southeast Raleigh get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering Cleveland's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Garner is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9. As for Cleveland, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-6-1.

Garner suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Cleveland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
