Softball Game Preview: Cuba-Rushford Rebels vs. Fillmore Eagles

The Cuba-Rushford Rebels will venture away from home to face off against the Fillmore Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fillmore will be up against a hot Cuba-Rushford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Rebels blew past Andover 21-2 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Fillmore made easy work of Andover on Monday and carried off a 16-1 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mylee Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morghyn Ross, who went 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Earley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Cuba-Rushford's record is now 8-4. As for Fillmore, their record now sits at 9-3.

Cuba-Rushford couldn't quite finish off Fillmore when the teams last played back in April and fell 11-9. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
