Basketball Recap: Carl Junction Comes Up Short

Carl Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the McDonald County Mustangs, falling 81-51. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-45 back in December of 2024.

Leading McDonald County to victory were Jamie Washam and Dakota O'Brien. Washam dropped a double-double with 23 points and 22 rebounds, while O'Brien dropped a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. The match was O'Brien's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Roslynn Huston, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Carl Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for McDonald County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Carl Junction nor McDonald County have any future games scheduled.
