Basketball Recap: Trinity Prep Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Trinity Prep and Master's Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Trinity Prep had to settle for second. They fell 45-37 to the Master's Academy Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Prep lost, don't look at Jillian Hennebery. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points. That's the most points Hennebery has posted since back in November of 2024.

Master's Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasie Vellon led the charge by putting up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacey Hopkins, who had 13 points.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Master's Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Trinity Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Master's Academy, they will take on The First Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The First Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Master's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
