Recap: Carl Junction Bulldogs vs. Webb City Cardinals

The Carl Junction Bulldogs lost against the Webb City Cardinals back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Carl Junction received a tough blow as they fell 65-49 to Webb City. Carl Junction has not had much luck with Webb City recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Wyatt McAfee and Deacon Endicott certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. McAfee dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Endicott scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Brody Pant was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Barron Duda continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Webb City, scoring 30 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Duda's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Holton Keith, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.

Carl Junction bumped their record down to 5-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Webb City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carl Junction won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Neosho on January 6th. Hopefully Neosho focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Webb City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Joplin at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. Joplin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
