Wirt County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tyler, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Wirt County put the hurt on Tyler with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Wyatt Boice made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Boice was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brody Ewing was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jakob Moore was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Wirt County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tyler only posted an OBP of .364.

Wirt County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs this season. As for Tyler, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
